Small Weekend Haul - Primark and New Look

This Easter weekend I decided to go shopping, which is something I haven't done in such a long time!

But honestly, I genuinely can't remember the last time I went shopping because it was soooo long ago and I have been extra busy the past couple of weeks sitting mock exams, revising, going to work/college and just generally trying to keep on top of everything (hence the lack of blog posts recently!)

However, now that I'm officially on Easter break I decided to take a shopping trip with the small funds I had saved and see if I could grab any good Easter time deals. Fortunately, I did find some lovely bits and pieces that I just couldn't say no to!

I found these gorgeous heels in the sale at New Look which were only £8 - down from £22.99! I'm surprised at how comfy they are and they are surprisingly easy to walk in!

Next I trotted off to Primark and picked up this lilac 'boyfriend' style t-shirt for £3. I thought the colour was perfect for spring/summer and that it would be a good top to wear on its own with a pair of leggings as it covers my bum nicely!

Whilst I was in Primark I also popped up to the men's section and came across this striped t shirt. I got the XL size and ran off to try it on and saw that fitted me just like a dress! Although its not the most flattering fit, it looks okay and I have been wanting a stripey, over sized dress for a while now so I thought that a men's t shirt from Primark would be a quick fix! This top was super cheap too - but unfortunately I cant remember the price - sorry!

Last but not least, I found a pair of white skinny jeans in Primark for £10 and seeing as I had been wanting some for a while now I thought I might aswell go ahead and grab a pair.

I had been eyeing up a pair in Topshop earlier that day with rips on the knees but I couldn't justify spending £38.00 on them so I brought these from Primark and cut holes in them myself! Personally, I can hardly tell the difference between these and the Topshop pair when they are on so it was definitely a bargain.

At the end of the day I came home with some decent purchases that I think I will get my wear out of and all for cheap prices! Don't forget to leave me a comment if you liked what I brought - I love reading them! :)

5 Thoughtful Mothers Day Gift Ideas!

If you're like me, you will probably have only just realized that its Mothers Day this Sunday.

I only realized how soon it actually was yesterday when my friends were asking me what I had gotten for my Mum. Its not because I'm a bad daughter that I forgot - time is just genuinely seeming to be flying by so fast lately!

In the spirit of Mothers Day, I decided to share some ideas of what you could do on Mothers Day or get for your Mum to make her feel all happy and loved :)

*image from, edited by me
1. Meal Out
Sometimes its nice to spend some quality time alone with your mum and to just have a general one on one bonding session together. Taking your mum out for a meal is a good idea if you have a big family or find it hard to have proper alone time with your mum. It's also such a civilised and grown up thing to do, so you will both feel super sophisticated after you've ordered away and had a few drinks together. Of course, a meal can be expensive but local pubs are usually relatively cheap - I know a few do 2 for 1 offers all year round and some will be doing special offers for Mothers Day - its just a case of shopping around a bit!

2. Flowers
Flowers are a super cute gesture, especially with spring now getting into gear and they can also be really cheap to buy! I know its kind of cliche, but I would always get my mum flowers over chocolates for Mothers Day just because I just think flowers appear a lot more thoughtful - I always think chocolates are for birthdays and Christmas - unless you can afford both!

3. A Homemade Card
Probably the cheapest option of them all but a homemade card that comes from the heart will really show your mum that you made an effort if you cant afford to get her anything else. It doesn't even have to be a card (if you think its a bit primary school), it could be a letter or just a little note to say that you love your mum and to let her know that you appreciate her! I'm sure any mum would understand if you cant afford big lavish gestures, as sometimes the little gestures mean more!

4. Spa Day
This is probably the most expensive option, but a spa day would really pull it out of the bag and wow your mum. If you think it might be slightly too expensive for you, you could always suggest to split the costs between your siblings or shop around online for some really amazing deals. Some places that often do great deals are or

5. Pictures
About 90% of the mums I know are obsessed with pictures and picture frames around the house - if not its definitely Grandmas. Printing a picture of you and your mum or just buying a simple, pretty photo frame is something that you can't really go wrong with as it looks super thoughtful and its something that you can both keep forever!

I hope that you all have a lovely Mothers Day, regardless of what you do or how you decide to spend it! Comment below if you have any other ideas of what to do for your mum this Mothers Day - I'd love to hear them :)

Q&A Tag!

image taken from
I was tagged by the lovely Becky from Lace Marked to do this Q&A tag! Thank you for tagging me!

1. Are you a very open or private person?
I'd say I'm pretty private, I like to keep things to myself in case people take things the wrong way or get the wrong impression (I often word things badly). I'm quite open with my friends I suppose, but I still like to keep a few secrets to myself.

2. If money was no object, where would you move to?
If money was no object I think I'd have houses all over the world! But if I had to be more selective, I'd definitely live somewhere warmer, like Australia or California.

3. Who was the last person to make you cry?
If I ever cry its probably because of a sad movie, believe it or not I hardly ever cry because of other people! The only time I can think of right now was months ago and it was because of my mum. When we argue I get sooo frustrated and this particular time I just happened to have a bit of a breakdown and decided to cry and let it all out. We are okay now though haha!

4.  Is there a song that can bring you to tears instantly?
There are probably hundreds. One I can think of now is Florence and the Machine's Never Let Me Go. I wouldn't say it brings me to tears instantly, but when I really think about it and listen to it properly, it probably could.

5. Do you believe in soul mates?
No, I believe in fate though. Is that the same kind of thing? I don't know haha

6. What age do people mistake you for?
Pretty much everyone usually thinks I'm 18, if anything else they will think I'm younger.

7. What are you wearing?

8. Have you ever been in love?

9. How tall are you?
5'2 (what my mum estimates me at)

10. How much do you weigh?
Probably 8 and a bit stone. The last time I weighed myself I was 8 but since then I have definitely put on weight so there is a little guesstimation.

11. Any Piercings?
My ears twice. I went through a stage when I really wanted my nose pierced though, but I was always too much of a chicken to actually get it done.

12. Favourite TV Show?
This is really hard! Probably The Vampire Diaries, its one of the only shows I have watched religiously since it started.

13. Quality you look for in a partner?
Someone who is a genuinely nice person. I don't like boys who act really differently around their friends just to gain some kind of acceptance from them and then they act totally the opposite when they are alone with you - it really bugs me!

14. Favourite Quotation?
'Be the change you wish to see in the world' - Mahatma Gandhi

15. Fears?
Being in the sea with nothing around you and not being able to touch the bottom, Heights (only when near the edge of something) and hairy insects.

16. What beauty essential couldn't you live without?
Probably fake tan if that counts as a beauty essential. If not then probably an eyebrow pencil...eyebrows are everything.

17. When going out somewhere, how long does it take you to get ready?
It all depends on where I'm going! The main three are College (half an hour), Weekends (an hour) or Clubbing/a party (two hours).

18. How organised is you makeup and nail polish collection?
I'd say moderately. They are all in one place but in that place they lie in a complete mess. I do try to keep them tidy but due to the rushing I do when I get ready they just can't be tamed.

I would like to tag anybody and everybody reading to do these questions! If you do choose to accept the challenge, leave me a link in the comments so I can go and have a read!

I hope you all enjoy the rest of your week!

Spring OOTD

The other day I knocked off college an hour early and it just so happened that the sun decided to make a long awaited appearance from behind the clouds!

Not wanting to miss the opportunity to soak up some vitamin D, me and my mum decided to go for an afternoon stroll in the sunshine and take some photos whilst we were at it. I also wore my new dress from my latest haul which was lucky because I could turn the pictures into a nice outfit post!

*Please excuse my hair and general face in these photos - my hair is currently at a really awkward length and I rarely do anything with it for college. I also find that college just makes my makeup come off the minute I step through the doors and these photos weren't really planned so I didn't put any more on beforehand.

 - outfit details at the bottom -
dont know what I was pointing at...

did my hair really look like that?
pretty spring flowers
Dress + Tights - Primark
Desert Boots - Primark
Jacket - a hand me down from my nan - Vintage haha!

I hope you liked the photos - it was quite the task to get my mum to take some decent pictures and manage to snap ones of me rather than the ground. On the other hand, I'm so happy that spring is finally on the way and I can start to spend more time outside now that the weather is (hopefully) starting to improve.

Please feel free to follow me and comment - I seriously love getting nice comments, they make my day!

Staying organised

In the last couple of days I have discovered how it feels to be a more organised person - and boy has it been good!

Normally, I'm probably one of the most unorganised people I know and I spend most of my time stressing about forgetting things or leaving my work until the last minute. I also envy people who appear naturally organised and in control of their lives (most of my friends) and seeing as it is my last year in college I decided I needed to knuckle down and get responsible!

One of my new years resolutions was to become more organised, so during the last week I brought myself a brand new diary (a couple of months too late!) and tried to put my resolution into action.

After trawling the internet for an hour or so browsing through countless swish filofax's and organisers, I came across this one - the Organised Mum Pocket Life Book. It was £5.00 (+ £1.95 delivery) from amazon. I'm not a big diary kind of person, I like small and cute things that aren't too heavy and will fit into bags easily like this one!

As you can see, its not just any ordinary diary - it has lots of little cool features that make it unique and perfect for me. The shopping list will come in handy when I spy any beauty/fashion bits, meal ideas for when I'm sitting in class and thinking of all the possible things I could eat when I get home and finally a to do list for jobs I mean to do but usually end up forgetting.

It also shows one week to a page which I originally wanted as I'm only going to be writing down little notes so I don't need big spaces for each day.

If anyone is in search of a cute diary to get organised with then I really do recommend this one, I've been using it for a few days now and I love it!

New shoes + small spring haul

Today I woke up and found a pair of shoes in my postbox.

I'm a shoes over handbag girl for life and I'm well known as the 'shoe addict' member of the family.

I've always wanted a pair of cute t-bar dolly shoes and when I saw these on ebay I couldn't resist so I brought a pair thinking they would look super cute in the spring/summer with pretty dresses and ankle socks.

Like any girl who buys a pair of new shoes, I instantly had to try them out and take some pictures!

If you want a pair like mine click here or just search for 't bar flats' on ebay and I'm sure you'll find some similar. My pair cost me £13.99.

They come in lots of pretty colours which made me almost have a nervous breakdown trying to decide what pair to get. In the end though, I went with black, just because they will go with anything anytime of the year!

Back to today though, after I'd pranced around in my new shoes for a good 20 minutes I decided to tag along with my mum and go shopping for a couple of hours.

After literally scraping out the remnants of my Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation and concealer whilst getting ready, I decided I'd better get some new makeup or face going au natural to college for all of the next week.

After slouching around the makeup stands for a while I saw the Revlon colorstay foundation and remembered some reviews I had been reading on it a couple of nights ago that said it was a great foundation and lasted on your skin for ages. Slippin' and slidin' foundation is something I have a problem with due to oily skin so I had a yolo moment and went ahead and brought it (yolo because it was £12.49 - a serious blow to my attempts to save up).

Boots were also doing a 3 for 2 deal on makeup so it was my lucky day really because I also brought the collection 2000 concealer which I have tried before and loved. Being the lovely daughter I am, I let my mum choose the third product so she got herself a nice lip gloss :)

We then went into Primark where I first saw this blue acid wash dress which was £12. As soon as I saw it I thought about how nice it would look with my new shoes so then I got excited and ended up buying it.

On the way to the tills, I then spotted this cute little denim pinafore thing and repeated the exact same process of imagining how good it would look with my new shoes. I tried to restrain myself but after seeing it was only £5 I couldn't stop myself!

It wasn't a great day for my bank balance, but at least I got my makeup and some pretty spring/summer pieces!

I'll try and let you know how the foundation goes - I hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend!

Until next time,
